This example is typical of a stock 512BBi engine rebuild with the only deviation being slightly higher compression (10:1) forged pistons. The CIS version of the Boxer engine has less camshaft duration and lift than the carbureted model. This reduces both horsepower and torque. That being said, the 5.0 liter BB engine is still plenty powerful and smooth. This 512 BBi engine will provide many years of enjoyment for it's owner.
